Sandwiches I Have Eaten #2

You see that? That is a genuine Philly cheese steak sandwich from Philly's Best on Belmont. I ate that so hard that it was almost erotic. (Specially if you like to watch dudes eating sandwiches.) I've been going to Philly's best for a decade now! It used to be that I would go before or after a show at the Metro or at the old Bottom Lounge, grabbing a slice of their pretty good pizza and a huge drink. Nowadays I don't go to the Metro as often, not to many shows that catch my attention, and the old Bottom Lounge is long gone having being replaced by nothing, but I still go to Philly's. It was only last year that I had the cheese steak sandwich for the first time. I know, I can't believe it myself!

I headed over to Philly's Best last saturday after my unsatisfying lunch of chickpeas, just chickpeas, after work. I was thinking about the sandwich for a while, visualizing my goal, some motivational speakers might say. But then it just went from a regular sandwich into a sandwich with sexy lady legs, lustily beckoning me to partake in its melty goodness. I got to PB, ordered my sandwich; an Original Philly Cheese Steak, american cheese, grilled onions and a drink. I got my number called out after only a brief wait. I didn't immediately go to town the second I got to my table because I took a picture. So I take a bite and proceed to burn the hell out of the roof of my mouth. Did that stop me? Not really. I took a few gulps of my coke and went back to eating. I sat there for a while kind of dazed from the sheer amount of meat (yes yes, that's what she said) and cheese and deliciouness. The whole shebang cost me a little less than 10 dollars, but if you want to be cheap there's a subway a couple of door away. Come on really?

PB's Cheese Steak is a wonderful thing, at it's core it is nothing but meat, onions, cheese, and bread. I didn't have enough money to get more toppings like I wanted that day, but I the only other topping I usually get is green peppers. The best food I have is usually really simple stuff, no exotic or outre ingredients, no fancy preparation techniques, you know something that is easy to learn to make but hard to master. They have the regular huge almost foot long and the 6 in variety in case you want to be a pansy. There's a chicken variation and you can get any of them as a wrap instead of a sandwich.

I have a bit of a sandwich obsession, and I must say, that looks insanely delightful.
