Friday: First I went to Fo Po to pick Gabe up as we had a party to go to by downtown. We then met up with Mike at a hookah cafe where he introduced us to a couple of friends and gave us fruit snacks. The first stop was Mike's old place by Bryn Mawr and Foster to pick up a shelf. Cops were crawling all over his neighborhood like maggots on a roast beef sandwich that someone left in the front seat of a car that's been sitting in a hot car for a few hours. They loaded up and we went to buy booze; a make your own six pack, 2 dead guys, 2 blue moons, 2 great lakes; Mike bought a 30 case of pbr, a md 20/20, and a dragon's milk ale. The we headed to Mike's new place by 18th St. Egad I miss the southside. The party wasn't far from there and we even found parking nearby. At the party they weren't letting us in with the glass bottles, so we drank the beers we had in our hand in the hallway while talking to a girl named Purple and her friend Bhudda. We stashed the bottle beer in our pockets and waltzed right into the main room. It was juketastic. It was alright. Gabe got kicked out for a few minutes. Later on, when I sobered up, I found a guy I know and he said he needed a ride so I said sure. On the way to the van I said to the guy, "Do you like thrash metal?" Which strikes me as funny now. Dropped dude off, dropped Gabe off, Mike had left before us with a friend. I got home at like 5 in the morning.
Saturday: My mom woke me up so we could go to the store. I was pretty sleep deprived and I would've worn some ridiculous sunglasses since the sun was so bright I could hear the solar rays penetrating the atmosphere, save for the fact that I was too lazy to look for some. Fuck it. Got to the store and bought stuff. Back at the house I decided to go get some thai food for lunch and might as well return the library books I wasn't reading. At the thai place I had a, man I forgot what I had, but it was delicious in that almost unforgivably spicy way I love. I walked to the library after that. I hung around there for a while and got three books. I decided I needed caffeine and went to some fancy ass cafe and ordered an ice coffee. It was either that or go to dunkin donuts and get an ice coffee to drink in the park, but goddamn it was sunny. I got a drink that looked like it had booze in it, served in a glass that looked like a science beaker. It was good strong coffee, which made me feel awake. When I got home Jer called me up and asked if we were still going to Neo. I said, "Uh... maybe." He said, "Aw, c'mon let's go dude." "Why?" "Let's just go, fuck, why does everything need a reason with you?" I went to a nearby pub, where a few friends were hanging out, cause that was the meet up spot. I told the dudes to come with to neo, just for a laugh at least, but they would have none of that. The place was packed with older people, said one of my friends, "The kind that won't be here past 11, cause look at them, they have mortgages." It was sorta sad there, but I was comfortable despite the shitty music those fuckers kept putting on. Jer showed up and we had another pitcher of beer. I didn't want to leave because I was happily hanging out there and talking about with people I can talk to without having to watch what I say lest I freak them out and make it akward. Jer was all like, "C'mon you satanist, you said you would." "Fine." The two of us left and on the way he told me that he needed me to be wingman and I said, "Fuck that I don't want to talk to anyone." Specially at neo, where the music is super loud and I can't hear any thing since I'm already half deaf. We found parking right across the street from the place. There was some girl waiting for Jer, she gave me a hug and a ticketmaster envelope. I got a handshake and a nice to meet you. I excused myself and walked into the dank, dark, cave of despair that is neo. There was some pretty lame music playing and I got a beer and lamented my lost washingtons. I could have bought a pitcher of beer at the other bar with the money I spent on one beer at neo. I found a good place to watch the freaks, a table and everything. Jer found me and said, "Let's go over there." So we went to a corner and I was introduced to some people whose names I tried to remember. Strained conversation. Me sipping on my beer. I had a slight buzz from earlier, but not enough for chicago's premier hard edged electronic music nightclub. Unless you like music that sounds like cats falling on a synth then neo sucks when sober. A half hour later I went to the bathroom and on decided to walk around when Jer found me and said that the other girl he was meeting was there and I should meet her and her friends. The other girl in question I already knew, much to Jer's surprise. We laughed. The other two I don't remember them very well at all, but they were looking at me like I was from space or something. I talked for a bit, but I was far more busy talking to few people on my phone, which was more interesting than whatever forced conversation I was getting myself into. Maybe it was because I was all social the night before. Maybe it was because I really didn't sleep. I left shortly after meeting the girls and saw the bus I needed to take zooming by. Luckily another bus was right behind it and I jumped on that, but it was the wrong bus. Fuckit, I thought, I need to go north anyway. It was the Broadway bus of surprising speed. I got to Lawrence where the 81 showed up promptly. I just went home and passed out.
Didn't do much today except help out in the yard, in the rain, yeah, fun. I started playing Oblivion, just when I thought I was out they pull me back in, fuuuuck. I am cold now. So very cold.
