I find it very hard to believe that at one point in not too distant history people actually went and bought Lionel Ritchie albums. Just listen to this cheesy shit:
"Oh you just picked the lamest Lionel Ritchie song," you say. No, they are all like that. Whatever. In the end one person's cheese is another person's mold.
Have you ever wanted a drink so bad that you've considered going to mass?
Holla. A play in one act.
Guy, late teens to early 20s, carrying a two litter in a plastic bag.
Girl, same, on cell phone.
Outside of an urban neighborhood food/lottery/cigarette store. The kind of place that has really weird energy drinks. Guy is standing outside the the door. Girl walks by talking on her cell phone.
Guy: Hey, baby. Baby, what's yo number?
Girl ignores Guy.
End.
Fight to Survive by Stan Bush, from Bloodsport, one of the greatest movies of all time.

Basically all I want to do is listen to Iron Maiden
I was clicking around youtube earlier and found Powerslaves: An Electro Tribute to Iron Maiden, and it's good weird. I'm really digging this version of Aces High by Imatran Voima, it has some awesome allusions to a bunch of old school dance songs. I've been playing Ace Combat 4 recently, which is crazy because that game takes place in the future, 2004 or something. Goddamn. Much like how Gran Tourismo taught me to drive, Ace Combat has taught me to fly machines that go faster than sound, theoretically. I'm sure there's all these details, but what the fuck ever.
One of my best friends doesn't like power metal, I consider him a madman. What other music are you going to use in order to charge into glorious heroic battle?
Iron Maiden - Die With Your Boots on. I had a great Iron Maiden live tape. Nothing like yelling along to Maiden to get your day started off on a positive note. A couple of weeks ago I heard the coolest classic rock station! It was probably some internet thing, I don't know, I heard it at the army surplus store on belmont. It wasn't like the loop being all boring and shit, but actually rocking. When I walked in there was an awesome live version of Electric Eye by Judas Priest and then they played some other good stuff, the kind of stuff that makes old rock fucking rock! Man, I wish there was a good rock station in Chicago. The fucking light fm and oldies stations at work are wearing incredibly thin. Dear satan, I found myself humming along to A Thousand Miles a few days ago. A Thousand fucking Miles! Very slick song, props to that. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Look, here's a song by Stormwarrior, no I don't know who they are but isn't that a great band name? The song is Iron Prayers and that's a badass song title. A few days ago I got sucked into this crazy Northlands metal vortex and it left me feeling like I should be sundering things. I'm afraid that one day I will buy a sword.
Last saturday one of my friends was having a horror movie marathon at their place in order to protest the apparent laming down of the 24 hr horror marathon at the Music Box. I can't attest if the Music Box's marathon was ever cool because I have never been, 24 hrs of horror movies is too much for me to deal with. So I didn't stick around for all of my friend's thing, but I still managed to watch some good stuff. One of the highlights was House from 1986
The movie is pretty cool, really good looking monsters that look like they came straight off covers of mid 80s heavy metal albums, and some good action. It's not that scary unless you think about it. Good times. After hanging out for a while I ended up at some crazy rave-esque party. I haven't been partying a lot but I resolve to party more, if not more that then party harder.

Uncontrollable urge to blog
I HAVE DECIDED that monday is now Devo day. Usually monday is just crying by myself day. I'm sure that this is just a coincidence as Devo doesn't make me sad or annything.
I hardly ever think about Devo. Sometimes I think about their hats. That's about it, really. Like, "Did people in the past think that by the year 2011 everyone would wear those Devo helmets on El? I think so."
I must have seen this video like 5 times earlier today
I started to read Ready Player One today and this song is featured early on in the book, much like the Devo video above, I've listened to it several times. I just like this video because Rodney Dangerfield is in it.
It's not really official that mondays are now dearly devoted to Devo. It would be more fun they were though.
I found the following amusing as well:
"Men in a state of nature, that is a state without civil government, are in a war of all against all in which life is hardly worth living." From this random page I found while looking up "Hobbesian struggle" or something like that which I read in a movie review.
