I have been up since 6 AM more or less, a few different alarms went off and I decided. what the hell, let's get up. I wasn't up very late last night, after running around very caffeinated I crashed about 11 PM, just when Tron: Legacy was starting. I wanted to see the beginning of Tron 2 because I saw most of it a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. At 6 30 am today I was standing around thinking, what should I do now? I should go for a jog. Then I laughed.
I work in Old Town, a pretty la dee fucking da Chicago neighborhood. Back in the day it wasn't so fancy, it was kinda grimy, but that was a really long time ago. At any time of day, any time of of the year there are approximately 200 people jogging through the neighborhood, it is insane. If people aren't running outside then you see them at the Xport gym running treadmills (why do people run on those when it's nice out? a mystery for the ages if anything). On the weekends the neighborhood is just clogged with joggers, young dudes, old ladies, groups of them, gossipy pairs. It's getting to the point where I'm starting to recognize some of them, like black kid with buzz cut, always running west around 7 pm. There's a Fleet Feet a block north of North and they must be making a killing! I see people walking around with F.F. bags all the time, 2 at a time sometimes. Madness. I can totally understand everyone running around though, traffic around there is abhorrent.
Check out these Alternate Universe Movie Posters". Some of these would make amazing movies. Charles Bronson in Lone Wolf and Cub? I'd watch that! I'd watch the hell out of that! Particular favorites for me include: The Star Wars by Alejandro Jodorowsky, with an amazing cast. Star Wars 3, staring Christian Bale and Val Kilmer. Spy vs Spy with Michael Caine and Warren Beatty. What? Michael Caine is in some badass movies. I am telling you, they don't make them like they used to. This isn't coming from some nostalgic point of view, I'm not like a 50 year old dude who fondly remembers sneaking into Death Wish. Pac-Man starring Bruce Willis. Hugo Weaving as James Bond! Ah good stuff.
I've been playing Saints Row 2 almost exclusively, with some breaks for Virtual Fighter 5. I really dig SR2 and I'm probably going to get Saints Row the Third before getting Skyrim or Modern Warfare 3. I've said this before but here's one more, for the gusto, Saints Row is like how the latest GTAs would be if they were fun. There! Look, I really, really liked GTA 4. It's a beautiful game, I was all "Oh man, Roman... dead? WHY." You know. But the driving sucked, I hated hanging out with virtual people, and the over the top nature of previous GTAs was wiped out. Sure there's some wackiness, but not nearly enough for me. Luckily the SR series comes in and fill that hole in nicely.
I am really looking forward to Street Fighter vs Tekken. Znagief vs Akuma. YEAH
