This trailer is a lot of fun

Almost too much fun. All of the Kick-Ass teasers and trailers have been really cool, which is the whole point of a trailer, make the movie look cool so people go see it. But Kick-Ass trailers are worrying because they are just so good that I think the movie won't be as cool as the trailers made it seem.

Going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do. There's just something so awesome about going to see a movie in an actual theater. Sure I can hang out at home while watching a movie, but it's rare that I'll just sit there and watch a movie. I'll be online, or I'll be eating, or I'll be talking to someone over the phone, either way distracted. At the movies I tend to just watch the movie as the lord intended. Hell, most of the time I go to the movies by myself, mainly because this is the only way to ensure that my complete and utter attention is focused on the movie. If I have learned one thing from going to the movies is that sometimes the preview for a movie is all you need. Take for example the Phantom of the Opera

Yeah, it's cheesy as hell, but man, sometimes you gotta go for those cheese fries, nahmean? Of course you don't eat 1 pound of them. I ate that pound of cheese fries and then some when I saw that movie. (yes of my own volition) After the film was over I felt like I had eaten too much, kinda queasy, and regretting my choice.

There are those redbox dvd rental kiosks all over the place. Those are lame. Limited movie selection and having to face the elements? Fuck that. Half the fun of going to to rent a movie is going to the rental place and walking around the place looking at movies, talking about movies, and ultimately renting movies. All this talk of renting movies and actually going to the theater, maybe I'm getting old.

yes, I'm yet to meet an advocate of the red box. Theater-going experiences really enhance the movie for ADD plagued individuals like myself.

And why is the goddamn cherry coke so good?

By the way: me and a few kids are going to see Shutter Island monday nite in Evanston if you'd like to join.

You know where to reach me.
